CORT surveyed over 1,000 facility managers to find out what’s currently trending in the world of facilities management, and what the future may hold during IFMA’s World Workplace Conference. The majority of survey respondents are facility managers from different industries and responsible for ensuring that buildings and amenities are well maintained to meet the needs of the people they serve.
Findings from the survey:
Almost 43% of the respondents were looking forward to trends that are related to employee health and wellness. These trends include standing desks, adjustable lighting in their workstation areas, and ergonomic seating arrangements. It seems like the majority of the facility managers agree with the fact that a healthy employee is a more productive and efficient one.
63% said that a combination of open and closed workspaces is important, indicating a trend towards offering employees space to work privately or collaboratively with coworkers. This is very practical now since although an open office space has benefits of increased collaboration and cost-effectiveness, we simply can’t ignore the safety precautions due to COVID-19 and the focus needs to be closed workspaces to stop the spread of germs.
With an increasing number of respondents anticipating hiring over the next few years, businesses must be agile when it comes to offering the ideal workspace for every employee.
